This suspended illuminated sculpture is a cluster of "Blights" . Pick of the Litter is made from decommissioned highway safety drums and industrial detergent barrels that have been cleaned, cut and welded together to make the forms. Working with industrial plastic debris allows the exploration of light in a new way that is not possible with metal welding. The Blights in this cluster have LEDs that can be switched out when they burn out (each one lasting approximately 5 years) by simply untwisting the bottle caps that hold them in place within each individual "Blight".
